Skye Cervone, Ph.D.

Welcome! I am currently a Visiting Instructor of English at Florida Atlantic University where I recently earned my Ph.D. in Comparative Studies. I have taught courses at FAU in composition, short fiction, drama, and literary theory. I am also an Adjunct Professor at Broward College where I have taught courses in composition, introductory literature, business writing, and Fantastic literature. While my M.A. work focused on the Fantasy literature of Lord Dunsany, my dissertation, “Living Capital: Situating Animals within Capitalist Modes of Production in Science Fiction,” looks at capitalism's relationship to animals in Science Fiction. I am currently the Public Information Officer for the International Association for the Fantastic in the Arts. I served as the Student Caucus Representative for the International Association for the Fantastic in the Arts from 2014-2016 and as the Secretary for the Comparative Studies Student Association at Florida Atlantic University from 2013-2015.
